RTL LUXEMBOURG – GLOBAL REBRANDING
RTL Luxembourg is the number one private national TV channel in Luxembourg.
Following the rebranding of the RTL Group, RTL Luxembourg had to change its overall design. That’s why Gédéon started its creative work from the RTL Group guidelines and adapted them to the DNA and specificities of RTL Luxembourg.

Motion Design
A grid system is the base of RTL’s brand book. We played with it to expand the visual grammar, allowing for surprising cutouts of images and typography. Images from Luxembourg and the famous faces of the channel were split, repeated or mixed to create moving mosaïcs. A graphic system also used to create openers, promos, and on-screen video backgrounds for the newscast and program studios.
One of the most innovative ideas was to produce a newscast opener updated every day with the 3 most important images from the news. A short, responsive and live alert to the viewer and a technical challenge that RTL Luxembourg has achieved.
The music for the idents, ad breaks, newscast and promos is an original composition. For the newscast, the famous RTL audio jingle has been remixed to keep pace with the times, while preserving the sound that is so emotional and familiar to the audience.
The openers of the shows are a variation of our moving grid system. For each show, we have played with motion to explore the different subjects. In addition, the sound was tailor-made to support the rhythm and the mood of each universe.
