    ASO Tour de France 2017

    ASO is a major player in organizing sports events such as the Tour de France. The world’s third largest sports event needed a new identity after 11 years (that one was also designed by Gédéon). We won the pitch among eight competitors with a simple idea : use graphics to help the viewers understand what they’re watching, whether they’re a novice or an expert.

    Simple signs based on the circle (representing the competition circuit as well as the bike wheel), better visual hierarchy and data sequencing were the guidelines we kept in mind.

    Other rules included reserving more space for the amazing pictures of crucial moments of the race and of the French countryside. And no graphics on air.

    The use of pictograms throughout the race allowed us to create a clear visual identity for worldwide broadcast.

    Gédéon also designed all the other elements of the broadcast : course analysis, athlete stats…
